Start Date: May, 2016.

Assignment Length: One (1) year contract; extendable for another one year.

 

 

Project/Position Summary

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Project Manager with broad knowledge of Project and Project Portfolio Management methodologies, tools and approaches with proven experience supporting, delivering and enhancing services delivered within a Project Management Office environment.

 

 

Mandatory Skills and Experience Requirements:

The consultant should have demonstrated experience, skills and/or knowledge in the following:

  1. Currently active PMP or PgMP certification or equivalent;
  2. Recent 5+ years experience initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and closing a minimum of three projects for a large complex organization;
  3. 2+ years experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) processes and practices.
  4. 5+ years experience using and mentoring the use of MS Project and MS Project Server for forecasting, resource capacity planning, and schedule and budget performance reporting;
  5. 2+ years experience leading / managing Project Management Office (PMO) services and functions supporting IM/IT Projects;
  6. Experience directly managing IM/IT projects with budgets exceeding one million dollars, Minimum 3 projects;
  7. 2+ years experience reviewing and assessing project health and project management deliverables including auditing projects for compliance;
  8. 10+ years combined related experience and education (degree + 6 years experience or diploma + 8 years experience.

 

 

Desired Skills and Experience Requirements:

The consultant should have demonstrated experience, skills and/or knowledge in the following:

  • 5+ years experience leading, coaching and mentoring other project managers;
  • 2+ years experience researching and evaluating project management tools including project portfolio solutions;
  • 2+ years experience working with Alberta Energy or companies within the Energy sector;
  • 2+ years experience with Microsoft Office products and tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Visio;
  • 2+ years experience with Microsoft Sharepoint.
